The Mission

It shall be the mission of the Indian Nations Council Shooting Sports Committee to:

  • Provide a common resource in the various disciplines of shooting sports to the council and units.
  • Assist in training and certification of shooting sports leadership for the summer camp program and for council and district events in accordance with Scouting America policy.
  • Promote Scouting America policies and standards for shooting sports among Scouting leadership.
  • Conduct an annual inspection and inventory of the council shooting sports facilities and equipment in coordination with the council camping committee.
  • Seek to obtain appropriate materials and equipment for shooting sports.
  • Evaluate the shooting sports venues at each of the council properties and develop a long-range maintenance and improvement plan.

Sep 5: Rising StarZ - Youth Sporting Clays Challenge

  • A sporting clays challenge for Venture Crews and Scouts BSA ages 13+.

Sep 26-27: Cub Scout - Top Shot

  • Earn your rank specific beltloops and/or requirements in BB, Wrist Rocket, and Archery!

Get ready for October

Oct 3: "Turning Leaves" Shotgun Shoot’n, Clay Bust’n Fun Shoot

  • A special day for Scouters who help bring year-round shooting sports programs to the youth of Indian Nations Council.

Oct 30: "Shoot’n at tha Pheasants" (Annual Council Fundraiser)

  • Fall pheasant hunt and council fundraiser. Join the fun and support the Indian Nations Council.
